Armenia’s second president, Robert Kocharyan, has been remanded in custody for two months,TodayPress TV reports.

The decision was made by the Anti-Corruption Court under Judge Sargis Dadayan. The court fully granted the investigator’s request.

According to the report, Kocharyan was taken to hospital during the court proceedings due to health issues. Despite this, the investigation continued in his absence.

Kocharyan is accused of abuse of office, particularly large-scale money laundering and accepting a particularly large bribe.

It should be noted that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had previously instructed law enforcement agencies to take measures concerning Kocharyan and the country’s third president, Serzh Sargsyan.
