Medvedev calls Pashinyan a “pig”

“Russia’s reaction to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s hasty statements about withdrawing from the CSTO is understandable,” TodayPress TV reports.

Grigory Karasin, chairman of the Russian Federation Council’s Foreign Affairs Committee, made the statement while commenting to TASS on Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev’s remarks concerning Armenia.

“It seems to me that, in a certain sense, we are going through an emotional period, and some of Pashinyan’s statements are also somewhat emotional in nature. Of course, this causes a certain reaction on our part, and that reaction is entirely legitimate and understandable,” Karasin said.

At the same time, the senator believes that countries should work to develop people-to-people ties, economic relations and cultural cooperation:

“We are trying to do this and certain results are being achieved. Therefore, I would not want to immediately give in to pessimism and make harsh assessments regarding the prospects. We need to work thoughtfully and develop mutual respect for each other and each other’s needs in the future. But we should try to refrain from making hasty and emotional statements, as the Armenian leadership sometimes does.”

Dmitry Medvedev previously said that Armenia would never join the European Union, but would permanently damage its relations with Russia:

“It is clear that Armenia will never join the chronically ill European Union, but this will permanently damage its relations with Russia and other Eurasian Economic Union countries. This is the price for the schizoid ambitions of the current ruler of this small country, filled with betrayal of national interests, Soros’ money and satanic persecution of the Armenian Apostolic Church.”

Medvedev also noted that only one rule currently applies to the Armenian authorities: “Do not cast pearls before swine.”

It should be recalled that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said yesterday that he would be very happy if his country were expelled from the CSTO.

Armenia has suspended its activities in the CSTO since February 23, 2024.
