Turkey responds strongly to Netanyahu’s threats: “We will thwart his plans”
Turkey’s Presidential Administration has strongly reacted to statements by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu concerning Turkey and Syria.
TodayPress TV reports that Ankara issued an official statement.
It said that Netanyahu’s threats and accusations demonstrate his international isolation, political unease and frustration.
The statement by Turkey’s Presidential Administration emphasized that Ankara will continue to oppose Netanyahu’s actions that undermine stability in the region and support countries pursuing a policy of peace.
It should be noted that tensions between Israel and Turkey have intensified in recent days, particularly over Syria. Israel carried out a strike on Syria’s Abu al-Duhur airbase, while Netanyahu said that a Turkish military presence in Syria would pose a threat to Israel. Ankara, meanwhile, condemned Israel’s move. Recent reporting confirms that the Israeli strike on the Abu al-Duhur airbase has further escalated tensions between Israel and Turkey.
